Mysterious Noise??

Yesterday morning I drove out to Pier121 (The Office) to leave a couple old plastic chairs for the Great Ernest Paty to sink at his discreation.(catching fish)I decide I would kill a little time by doing a little jiggin since the early morning hour brought with it a late Oct sprinkling. The truth is i did`nt want to get wet so I stayed under there for a few minutes.I caught a few dinks but I could`nt help but notice hearing a strange and mysterious knocking sound coming from underneath the slip.Well finally the sprinkling stopped and I decided to leave but on leaving I discovered the Noise was coming from just about every slip that had a boat parked in it!?*%.Can anyone explain this or has anyone else experienced these SOUNDS at their slips?

Carp. Sucking algae off dock pontoons and boats.

I tried sleeping on my brothers house boat in the bottom hold area. You can’t because the carp are thumping the bottom of the boat when they suck the algae off. Every night they would start about dusk and sometimes during the day.

Yup it's carp hear them on my neighbors pontoon boat .

seen them sucking on bridge pillars on joe pool crazy sound lol .

Never seen carp do it but the Buffalo do.

It sounds like a pinging from tension and it has reverberation. You can watch them do it under the bridge when they are up top. I never would have believed it until I witnessed it. Very loud. Hear it all the time. Everyone thinks it's tension from the bridge. People think you've lost your mind until they see it.

yep carp.at our marina they put tarps under there house boats and that stops the carp sucking of boat bottom.
