Some of the best people on the water,Last week went out to lake lavon early.Got the boat launched at Little Ridge at 7:45. Fired up the merc purring like usual.I eased the Crappie Cat on plane headed to some timber om east side to stalk some slabs to put in lake Crisco.Well got close to my spot and motor did something weird, let up on the gas ,eased back on a little.THEN it ran rough.Turned it off looked at gas then switched tanks.Then wouldn't start.Dead in water,slowly drifting away from shore & watching a beautiful morning slip by with no catchn.Called few people no answers.Thinking&drinking{water}&drifting, [further from bank].I come up with idea[maybe good un??}Call up slab slayr#1 JERRY HANCOCK course he is almost to Fork not Lavon,dang!! but he says knows a guy out on the water he will call him.Jerry calls back says he is on his way.UNBELEAVIBLE, he comes over we put minds together ,she starts up,i run a little its good.Tell much thanks we exchange ph#s. I try to catch some,no luck.At 11 I run for the ramp,get about 1 mile.Dang motor revs like crasy, I go to idle ease on gas same.Now idling to ramp several miles away.MORE FR#@%%###*&## disaster.OUT OF GAS> meet up with a guy he got prob. we tie together run trolling motor forever, then we untie he goes to ramp at better speed im Driftin&drinkin Again.I see guy fishing 300yds of he hears my horn, comes over same my ARSE from certan doom.I get to ramp in no time.WOW I HAVE TO SAY THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL;JERRY HANCOCK,DONNY? & DARREL? & MIKE. I saw the one of the craziest things on Lavon yesterday. I was crappie fishing with my son and a buddy in his boat. We changed locations and I dropped a couple of markers for my buddy and his son to fish. I realized that I had left one of my markers at our last spot, so I high tailed it over to retrieve. On the way there was a couple sitting in the middle of the lake bimini up - motor off and just drifting. They wave and I see the lady with both arms waving so I decide to turn around to help. As I pull up, the gentleman asks what the problem is, and I tell him that I am here to see if they needed help and he tells me that they were just waving to be friendly. I just say have a nice day and bye.

Some good folks out there. And then there are jerks like this one last Tuesday in a no wake zone.



He went under the bridge going the other way a little bit earlier, also on plane. Either clueless or didn't care.

I'd say that the majority that do this just don't care...

Some of our friends here fish tubes under bridges and It scares the hell out of me.On other hand glad someone got you back to shore.

I thought you're supposed to call 911 and Garland or Rowlette police will send a boat to rescue. That's not true?
