1630 CFS equals how many gates? - 08/25/17 09:05 PM
Does anybody happen to know how to covert or have an idea what 1630 cubic feet per second (CFS) would equate to in dam gates open?
I suppose it may be different at different dams, but generally around here, they all seem about the same COE dams.
I'm guessing 2 or 3... but that's just guessing.

Don't know gates.
It is 731594.81 gallons per minute or 12,190 gallons per second.
If it's Lavon you are thinking, it usually runs about 400cfs per gate

We have a winner!
Thanks!
Someone posted this on another forum. You're right 4 gates.

Those gates are barely cracked open a few inches. Each gate can be raised much higher, probably close to 4 ft. Maybe higher than that.
