Tawakoni Report Friday, 6/16/17 - 06/17/17 01:15 PM
Hello Fellow Anglers, It's been quite sometime since I last posted. Took the wife and son out for some sandies but instead ended crappie fishing. I first went out alone at 4pm to scout for sandies and hybrids but the wind made it difficult to check my usual spots. I don't fish for crappies much on Tawakoni. I dropped a few brushpiles back in November when I was clearing out the yard. So I checked them out to see how it will produce. It was slow from 4pm to 6pm with 7 throwbacks. Went to pick up my wife and son at the pier at 6:15pm and off we went to check on more brushpiles. Wife and son started to catch as soon as they dropped the jigs down. It's like the light switch was turned on! We fished two brushpiles from 6:30pm to 8:45pm. We had 43 throwbacks and 22 keepers plus a 3 pound blue cat the wife caught. All fish caught with Bobby Garland baby shad chartreuse/white. My son wanted to go back out again on Saturday and the wife is itching for the thump! It was a great family outing! Hardwork paid off on the brushpiles!
