navarro mills and a John boat - 03/16/15 05:17 PM

I was looking to go to navarro mills and catch some of those big slabs. I have never been there and all I have is a John boat and a 50 lb thrust trolling motor. I was just wonder if there is anywhere somebody would recommend to put my John boat in to catch some big crappie

yea, go to oak park and paddle up the creek. But don't lose your paddle, cause then you'd be up a creek without a paddle.

I agree with putting in at Oak Park. You should be able to get to the dam no problem with a trolling motor, especially on a south wind day. Strong north wind day may be a different story. Fishing the rip rap there along the dam has been successful for me in the past.

No electronic hoping they will be in the shallows for the spawn. Probably about a week or 2 before I can get out there
