Bobby Garland Baits

To all my BG users, where do you buy your baits from and which color combo of BG is your favorite?

As of recent my local Academy in Arlington has really dropped the ball on keeping them stocked and having a better selection.

Far as color combos go, I wont get caught on a boat or on the bank without cajun cricket and monkey milk.

Our Academy here in Wichita Falls has a very good selection and monkey milk has been one of my go to baits. I have also found that the Mr Crappie strike king baits will produce just as good if you can't get the BG's

Monkey milk, blue ice, and electric chicken. All three seem to be effective no matter the time of year or water color for me.

The best place for me is ChuckandDeb.com They carry all of the company's plus all size. I always get about 1/2 of mind in 1 inch. They have a sales on some thing right now. They will be on what ever search you use. The colors that they have already give you are tops.

Ken, you might try Olsen's Pro-Am Fishing Shop at 3020 Roberts Cut Off Ft Worth 76114 it is in the Lake Worth area they have a pretty good selection most of the time.

Academy normally has a good selection and that's were I get my BG's from..
I stop at everyone I see and pick up different colors at each location...
Don't forget the Monkey Milk....

Ive found that out too. Very similar and depending on whats on sale ill buy either.

Nothing real specific. Just like seeing the newest and latest stuff. Im really beginning to like lanes stuff too.

Blue Thunder, I get'em however I can.

I was at a barge last year and the guy next to me was killing them using the Blue Thunder. I switched up from one of the glow colors I was using (purple and pink) and through on a monkey milk thinking it would be closer to the blue thunder. Nope, I didn't get one hit and he pulled a few more out. So it was either they liked that blue shimmer in it or he was a much better jig fisherman than I am. I'm sure it was probably a combination of both of those factors.

Sometimes crappie just want what they want and there is nothing else you can do about it. Ive also learned that depth can really make a difference. Was he jiggin fast or dead sticking? All important factors for sure when fishing next to a person that is catching! I watched Plano Paul do the very same thing at weatherford barge til i asked what he was using. Then I watched his depth and tactics with the jig. Before long I was in the catchers column myself. Dont be afraid to ask and learn from others fishing. You will be suprised who will open up and show you a few new tricks.

I like the monkey milk but besides that one, my go to BG baits are white and chartreuse and orange and chartreuse.
I probably have caught more on orange and chartreuse than the other 2 I listed. When Academy got poor on the stock, I started getting mine at Bass Pro in Garland since it was the next closest place to me.

I use BG baby shads for few years, on a regular basis. All colors mentioned above are proven colors. One color most peeps miss out is Black Night. Try it, you will be amazed how effective it is. Vegas Color is very good now at Lewisville. Pearl Color gives you more choices: dye any color as you wish.

If you want bulk (3 packs) you can buy from Budsbait on EBay. He carries all the colors for a good price.

black gum tends to be my go too, but academy here has been falling short lately also.

Barlows has a huge selection. Lots of the itty bitty ones too.

I have caught more on Key Lime Pie than all the other colors combined. And I have almost every color BG makes.
