Work good on hook ups and somehow usually in top of mouth. They have a small barb, and some fish are lost, and if you use minnows they don't stay on as well due to the small barb. I recommend them and use them 90% of the time.

Sickle hooks are the only ones I use.The EagleClaw sickles are supposed to have a bigger barb.

Best hook for crappie fishing made. They also make them in an Aberdeen style hook for strictly live bait fishing.

The good thing and the bad is the same. The sickle does loose once in a while because of the small barb if you hang up on the cover that the fish are in, most times you can pull it loose. With a bigger barb will be more broke lines.

Re: Sickle Hooks - 02/24/15 02:25 PM

like he sez ......very sharp
with mono and lots of line out
the stretch of the line gets somewhat compensated by the extreme sharpness of the hook
I use them a lot
I like they way they perform cheers
here are some of the tiny ones I use sometimes when after black crappie thumb
