and no more than maybe 6 foot of water
go look deep if you want
get out the boat and waste money
drive all over the place an hour or 3 .....
run up them costs
I will just go to the bank in the middle a the night
and quietly slap them crappie lips

somebody put a tracking device on KETCHN for me. I want his left over crappie, surely he can't be KETCHN all of them.

Next time he comes this way I'll get jpenwell to "hog-tie" him & I'll get my Vet to install one of them tracking implant's!

they sure was shallow man .....
I would a never thunk they went THAT shallow already

I found out a few things last night over a few hours of ketchn
first off they were a lot like the crappie fish the other night at another spot
THEY WANTED that there PINK DAWN thermocline lil fry
so much that I was quizzed what I was using yet once again
second off the Large fish wanted the larger version of it in the Mr fry edition as well
KABOOM

did I mention how much I love to wtch my fixed float take a dive ? btw ?
to fun for sure...
and did you know a large crappie can in fact seek out cover from a long way off ?
I had a nice fish on and I use very light tackle
she ran like a bass when I set the hook
RIGHT INTO A BEAVER DEN !!!!
never seen that before .....
to bad for her it aint my first rodeo
we wrestled and I used harsh language and out she came jumping like a bass
man was she fired up ...
them fish was fightin like BIG mean nasty green fish last might I tell ya
and for sure it is what it is

Yessir brother them crappie are about a foot under the water I just came back from riping some lips at a local creek!

I tell you this sir ,after repeated whippings from BIG black bass down at the trinity river. some fights won

and some NOT got broke off by 2 larger than that one ,and got my thumb chewed up bloody by them mean ole nasty green fish and lost a few in the air as well

I found similar smaller versions smacking my jigs at the lake as well

it sure was a crowd pleaser to get back on some crappie rides my friend

but as most of you know I do love me my Thermoclines

it was fun quiet evening , the wind laid after midnite ,the fish turned it up a notch when the moon arrived
some were nice fish and some were little bittys ....but the good news is there were lots of em to keep ya busy
heck I even got so lucky as to ketch my one lil yella bass
KADINK ...

even smaller black bass as well

on and on we go I say
ketchn crappie and releasing crappie .....

a selfie or 3 and on and on and on ....it goes
KABOOM

and then of you may ask yourself
so what did ya have for dinner before you hit the lake last nite ?
and...homemade ridiculous killer GOOD authentic Mexican enchiladas would be the answer

and so there is no confusion
yes I did a few other things while I was out in the dark last night as well

and quit lookin in the back of my truck already
its just some bamboo .....
that flew out of my pik up on the drive
I think it landed in some water somewhere
sure wish I could remember where .....

Dang, din din looks good...Been chicken soup for me the last few nights!

was the BOMB and yes I feel your pain on the chicken soup as well brother

i tried my local creek two days ago and nothing yet. I will keep after it because I know soon enough I will get to feel the thump again.

they may be there and only really active in the dark
darkness right now brings on a really good bite
and will for the next few months

So, when yer ketchin' in tthe dark, how do ya see anything? Headlamp? Army night vision goggles? Flashlight?

if its pitch black and there is no available light ...
I use them lil tiny glow sticks with the lil tiny rubber boot
and slip them down over the quill on my pencil float
you will see those in my posts very soon when I get farther away from public areas with lighting
but in really good moonlight and or marina/street lights ....
I just try to squint and focus

Yep, they aren't spawning yet, sun heats them rocks up so the bait goes there. U can do the same thing at leon

"KABOOM" on the Enchiladas!

one of the larger sow fish was swollen up like a ballon brother
and her you know what was hanging out looking like it wanted to let go
and since they all aint got swollen stomachs
and she was wearing a spawn colored dress
I would bet she was thinking pretty hard about things other than food
just saying

glad yawl enjoy them sir
I sure enjoy spinnin a fish tale
