When's the Best Time to go Crappie Fishing

My stock answer is "any time you're not in the hospital", but when Ernest called late last night and said lets go tomorrow, my answer was "are you crazy". But can't catch em sitting in the house, so we went to LL. We left the dock with a 15+mph breeze, fished some shallow water and caught some. Moved to a little deeper water and caught some...still not too windy. Got out on the main lake in deeper water and caught a bunch...in about a 10mph breeze. Only saw about six other boats. Quit at 10:30 with a livewell full for Ernest to fillet. Just goes to show you...go fishing every chance you get. Thanks ole man for the ride

Dawn until 10:30. Then go eat lunch and try again an hour before sundown. Those usually are your best bet.
