Got the boat loaded and completely checked out, so hopefully we won't have any boat issues this year!! We're really looking forward to a new experience - fishing a river! Keep good thoughts for all our CAT members that are fishing with the big boys! We're going to give it our best shot!!

Re: Off To Crappie Masters National - 09/28/11 02:55 AM
The only off limits is noon to midnight Sept 28th. Have to be off the water by 4pm Sept 29th. You can prefish every day before the tour if you want to. Some people arrived last Fri and started to fish. No off limits is a big drawing card for local sponsorship cause they know a lot of people will be there at least 5 days spending money in the community. Last year there were 215 boats at Truman.

Sitting at the boat ramp ready to unload and it's storming. We've pre-fished every day since Sunday. Tough fishing for everyone, but may have found a few good spots. It's definitely different fishing a river that has current at times and none at other times. We've seen Freddy Dooley and Wes and Duck Jerky a few times while pre-fishing. The waters that we are allowed to fish are about 80 miles of water and most people are located in one general area. Should be interesting.
Oh, and as far as boat issues, Jeff and Mackey had to buy new trailer tires because the tread was coming off one of them. We had a sensor go out and it shut us down to just idle speed for about half a day. Took the boat to a local marine shop and they were able to bypass the problem for now. Keep your fingers crossed that the motor will work through Saturday!!
Having fun! Wish we could send this rain your way!

Dang sure could have used cliff today. Fishing is tough but hanging on best I can by myself. Tring to stay with 150 plus of the beat crappie guys in the country with the fish in between summer and fall pattern. Was luckey to find 7 small fish yesterday. Will try to represent cat better today.
