Cedar Creek today - 12/09/09 03:06 AM
I took out Toby & Joe (TFF'ers) today for some fun crappie and hybrid striper fishing. We mostly fished brush piles today but we did fish the bridge a little bit too. We found the crappie to be spread out in many different depths. We could never really find a single depth that held the most fish. We fished brush from 16ft all the way to 26ft and found some fish on all the spots but not more at any single location. We ended our trip with 47 keepers and ofcourse we had a few throwbacks that I never count.
We also came across some hybrid stripers in deep water under birds. I believe we managed 12-15 legal hybrids and some sandies, all of which we threw back. Water temp is a chilly 53 degrees now. That’s a drop of 10 degrees in two weeks.
47 nice crappie
Nice flathead Toby caught on a crappie jig that we released
Couple of hybrids caught at the same time. Two of about 12-15 nice hybrids caught and released.
Here are some birds that showed us some hybrids. They were suspended in about 40ft of water.
I have openings, call or email if you want on my schedule.
Thanks!
