Crappie Masters Lake Fork report!!! - 04/05/22 02:50 PM
Fished Friday and Sat on Lake Fork for the 4th stop on the National Trail this year. Didn't get much time to prefish since we were out of town last week for ACT but got to check around the lake on Thursday and thought we had a solid plan. Friday was tough and we were both extremely disappointed with how the day turned out. We didn't have much trouble with fish not biting but we struggled to find quality fish. Sat was a lot better for us in fact we had our day 1 weight by 8am and thought we could put together 18 pounds or so and maybe take the win but we ran out of big fish! We caught a bunch of fish both days and had a blast. We found our fish in 10-28' of water on timber and laydown and caught them all using Slab Syndicate jigs in Ginger Truce and Bad Shad on 11' Jenko Kevin Rogers rods. Those rods are great. If your looking for a good balance between strength and sensitivity I think that's the ticket! We managed to climb from 8th on day 1 to 4th. Congrats to Josh Jones and J Ray for the win and Jordan and Jason on a second place finish! Was pulling for Tx to take the win! 4-5 Texas teams in the top 10 was nice to see!
I have May 10th, June 12, 21,28,29 open currently. Fishing will be better then IMO as the weather and the pattern should settle by then. Thanks for everybody that makes this possible, we couldn't do it without them! Check them out and tell them we sent you!
