Crappie Spawn near Longview

Crappie Spawn near Longview - 03/06/22 08:28 PM

Found some crappie shallow this morning in two different places, kept 20 and let about ten go that weren’t quite big enough.

Water was 60-62 degrees, big wind.

1/16th oz jig with curly tail grub, blue and white seemed to be the favorite color today.

I couldn’t find any on pines yet. I don’t usually start find big wads of males until March 13th.

Not on Pines!

Wife and I kept 36 spawning crappie on Sunday before the rain, hail, & cold front came through. Lake has turned to chocolate milk from the runoff.

Anyone’s guess when the Bass and Crappie will move back up again.

Could be awhile.

They are still there, just can’t see the jig, maybe add some scent, and some flash/vibration…
