Hot bite after the cold front - 12/21/21 04:28 AM
Once the cold front past and it didn't rain, we hooked up the boat and headed out to see if the Crappie were affected by the front.
Yup!.... we found Crappie stacked in between 12 and 20ft above the hydrilla. We were pulling them out as fast as we could throw our jigs back in the water.
Once it got dark the pattern switched, the fish moved right up against the bank...Crappie , bluegill, coppernose and bass.
Leo's last catch was a channel cat. I guess he wanted in on some action.
We fished for 4 hours and we both caught our limits. We kept fishing and releasing. We kept 50 and released 90 for a total of 140 fish caught. All caught on JIGLYF jigs.
We got home late so we cleaned fish on Sunday morning had a fish fry for lunch.
