Fall fishing is heating up

Fall fishing is heating up - 10/09/21 12:26 AM

It’s that time of year again where the crappie are active. I caught 75+ today and kept a solid limit with nothing shorter than 12.5”. Any tree/brush in 19-24 ft., on some sort of structure like a point or hump was loaded. All on jigs and color didn’t matter, I love Fall crappie fishing! [Linked Image]

Wait a minute, Minner. You said you had put the crappie gear away and were after the black bass now. roflmao Pretty easy choice to me, 2-3 bass all day or a pile of crappie like that! flehan

In my defense Grout, I did bass fish yesterday till 10:00, after only 3 fish, it was an easy choice. I always have to keep at least 1 crappie pole in the boat,,,, roflmao

If the bass fishing stays like this, might need to leave the baitcasters at home! cheers

Made it out for a few hours finally. Definitely a pretty good bite going on at Lake XYZ. I usually don’t keep any, but these went for a ride. Started throwing them back due to not wanting to clean too many. loco_2
My phones old and the pics suck, biggest was close to 2 lbs, bigger than the bass I catch. bang

Man they look so small in these pics.

He is old school. When I fished with him earlier this year we started at a tree near where he put out the brush and scanned until we found it. "There is a forked tree straight out from the ramp on the river bend that has a nice brush pile on it ":) That's how we fished the whole time I was there

I remember when I had to use a marker buoy to mark the tree after I graphed it, lol. Livescope has changed the game. Growing up, Dad used the old triangulation method using landmarks to fish offshore, screw that!

Between spotlock and livescope, Fishing has definitely become more relaxing. Definitely not cheaper, but a lot less cussing on those windy days.
