Crappie Masters National Championship Recap!!

Finally slowing down enough to post something up! My prefishing plans were derailed due to Covid but my doctor assured me I was good to go and Clay said come on so I headed that way Thursday after being locked up in fhe bedroom for a couple weeks! Clay said come on they’re where we thing they should be! I told him start wherever and I’m good with it! He prefished a couple days and I got a whopping 2 hours before we had to get off the water Thursday! Friday started good and we threw back a half dozen 1.5 fish and we somehow landed in 3rd place after day one out of 139 teams. Sleep was hard to come by Friday night and the alarm seemed to go off real early Sat but we rolled out and tried to repeat day one and it wasn’t happening! I don’t think we put a fish in the livewell till 830 but it was a good one! You have to think differently on these tourneys. We threw lots of fish back and honestly didn’t even start thinking about keeping 7 until around 11! We had 8 hours to fish so we look at it like a solid fish an hour is good. We caught our 5th weight fish with an hour to go and culled up .2 pounds with 15 minutes left! That fish bumped us from 3rd to second! We were .8 lighter on our scale than day one but weighting our cull fish at the ramp the 2 we weighted both were more than we had so maybe we were lighter than we though so when Brian said we needed 11.91 to take the lead we weren’t expecting it to get to 12 pounds! We figured it was gonna be about 11.60-11.70 so we were tickled when we knew we were leading with only 2 to go! We finally got our trophy! Gonna be on cloud 9 for a while with this one! Here in Shreveport getting ready for the Crappie expo now! Hoping for a good finish. Come home for the Texas State Championship and looking forward to next years Crappie Mastes race! Clay and I both have some days left if October if you want to go along some slabs in fhe boat! Give us a holler! Thanks to everybody that helps us along the way! Your making a couple rednecks dreams come true and we couldn’t do it without y’all!

Yes sir!! We’re trying to hang in there! Crazy times were in! I don’t have time for drama! I can’t keep up with my own families life much less anybody else’s! So many good options out there for crappie anglers now. It’s awesome to be a part of it and watch the sport grow thanks to folks like yourself!
