Crappie Near San Antonio?

I've been leveling up so to speak on my species count and now I need to catch some Crappie. What are my options around here? I suppose I could drive an hour or so to a decent body of water. I'll be bringing my kayak so I won't be needing a full on boat ramp. What's the word?

Mcqueeney (If you know someone who has a boat launch in their backyard), Placid, and Meadow Lake have good numbers of Crappie. If you do not mind about a two hour drive(from San Antonio), Choke Canyon is a good crappie fishery. Canyon Lake has crappie but they can be very hard to find a lot of time. thumb

I am surprised you did not reccomend the Guadalupe river in Sequin. Seems like I remember you fishing that water a lot. Should be good for a kayaker..

Aka Placid and Meadow Lakes. Both are on the Guadalupe in the Seguin area! thumb
