Brazos today, Grandson's PB Crappie - 04/12/21 03:37 AM

Went to the Brazos today, and the fishing was super tough. We marked some Crappie, but that's about it. One or two straggler sandies, but almost no fish to speak of. We had to troll small rattletraps to get the crappie to hit. Wouldn't go for jigs at all. Didn't mark a single catfish, and no other larger fish at all, no stripers, no hybrids. Surface temp was 70 when we got on, when we got off it was 73. We went about half way to Granbury, and went back up about half way to horseshoe bend. The pickings were mighty slim. Did manage to put my grandson on his PB Crappie though. 12.5 inches, but super skinny. Only weighed 1.7 lbs. Only shad we even saw were tiny little guys. Place was a ghost town.

Had fun, but only managed to pull three fish. One other crappie, about the same size, and one small sandie. From talking to others at the ramp, we did better than most did though.
