lake Weatherford - 03/29/21 08:16 PM

I'm thinking about launching out of weatherford this weekend. I'm hoping to locate a few brushpiles and maybe a few crappie. I noticed on google earth -the north end is choked up with sticks-anybody getting a boat up in here? I'm thinking there maybe some spawning fish in those shallow stix?
Navigation wise-is there an area/stumps,rocks that I need to watch out for?
Thanks in advance.

Never seen any stumps or rocks up there, but it gets way shallow. Like less than a foot in a lot of it. I've seen a few brush piles that people have sunken off their docks, but don't remember any on the main part of the lake, but I haven't been over ALL of it with a fine toothed comb either. Rip rap by the dam is good for sandies.

Might check out the GPS Nauticals depth map. I use them a lot.

Lake is wide open to navigate. Lots of brush piles in the lake just about everywhere you think there should be one.

North end of the lake where you see the brush is very shallow right now. Tough to get a boat into the area at all.

As far as crappie.... Caught a few on Sunday in the normal areas, but I couldn't find ANYTHING shallow. Even the fish i caught had no color to them and they were all still deeper than i would have thought. 8-10'

Thanks for the heads up guys!
If I find any co- operating fish it’ll be icing on the cake. My daughter is coming in from TT in Lubbock and I’m going to get her out. She’s always been my jigg’in partner.just look forward to marking piles and catching up with her!
