Sam Rayburn crappie today.

Well I’m not really a crappie guy but I’m learning. I went out this morning and hit a creek on the northern end. Picked the buck brush lines apart. Wind was brutal! I ended up fishing till 2:00 just because the wind was so bad I didn’t want to make that 1/2 mile run across open water back to the cove I launch in. I brought 13 home. I threw back 8 keepers that were in the 11” range and caught several short ones. All were caught on jigs. Pretty dang fun!

I brought the frog rod with a white frog and caught 4 bass on it while trolling to the next crappie spot. Biggest bass was 4 lbs. all in all a great day!

Headed back out in the morning.. see if they are still biting.. bought three bags of fish fry and 10 lbs of potatoes.. lol

Brought 13 crappie home. Two cats and threw back a lot of 11” and less. Good day!

Jig color did not matter. I tried several to see if it did. Pink to white to blue.. and various mixes of those.
