No - just mix it and dip the jig. I discovered this after I fumble fingered my jar of nibbles into the drink - so I just shook it till it mixed. So lake water definitely works . . . I have since found you can dip them, dry them, and the scent will stay on most of the day if not all day. I'm using cloth type jigs of course.

Caught a bunch of these this afternoon using it:



They fried up just fine.

I doubt Berkley would ever show it to you - it lasts 10 times longer (at least) doing this. They can't pick the nibble off the hook.
