Sam Rayburn Today

Sam Rayburn Today - 12/18/20 11:54 PM

Well I tried to catch some today.... I did not succeed! lol. The wind kept me from fishing the places I wanted to. I hit some of the brush piles I know about in 18' to 21' of water. Seen some fish on the graph but no takers. The birds were working the the river bends so I know the bait was out there! The wind got pretty rough so I gave up at 1 PM. 3' rollers were killing me. I had one bite but miss it and that was it. I'll try again Sunday afternoon maybe if the weather is ok.

It was tough for me yesterday on Toledo also.

I’m thinking about going up the river and fish the holes. At least I can get out of the big waves and be in deeper water. I haven’t decided yet. Might just hook up the bass boat and do that if it’s windy Sunday..

I'll probably be heading to my place in Broaddus for a week sunday afternoon. As much as I've fished Rayburn over the years, I've never really crappie fished it. I just may have to start trying.
