Bought a Pflueger President during the Dick's Black Friday sale for mine.

crappie reel thoughts. If you only fish vertical I would buy an inexpensive bait cast reel . If you are to cast I would buy a pflueger president or Okuma baitfeeder ( smaller model. I use a 20 ) Good luck

Didn't see the Pfluger on sale or I would have picked one or 2 up.

I would go with the Pfluger President or Trion. I personally like the President better but both are good reels.

I am a big fan of Okuma reels. I have 6 of the bait feeders.

We fish vertical, and the wife and I got tired of line twist from spinning type reels. I thought I’d try a small bait caster to eliminate that line twist, and bought an inexpensive Piscifun Spark ($40 or so). Took a bit of fiddling to set it up for vertical crappie fishing, but it worked out. The wife borrowed it for a bit and wanted one of her own. Her’s cost more because she had to have the right color to coordinate with the rod (it’s a woman thing). So, nice straight lines now with no twist and real smooth fish retrieve. Smooth is good. I’ll probably buy two more, one in my color and one in hers.
