Aquilla 11-18-2020 - 11/20/20 12:14 AM

Got out to Aquilla yesterday. Water temp was about 60-62. Marked a lot of small fish on brush on the main lake but couldn't buy a bite. The wind picked up so I headed for the dam. Found a lot of fish on structure but couldn't get them to bite either. Then I found a bunch of decent size fish hanging about 20-30 feet backed off the structure. So I started targeting them and it was on. Got a limit by 2:30. All were caught on black and chartreuse with 1/4oz. jig head. Most were suspended at around 15' in 25' of water. If I could get the jig in front of them they would nail it. The last trip there I couldn't find them at the dam and had to settle for brush and timber. Fished all day for 7 fish. The time before that they were at the dam. Go figure. Yesterday was extremely windy but it was out of the south, so the dam was the best option, and it paid off.
