Water temps were 71. Fished ~5 hours and had a total of 3 keepers. Jigs, minnows, everything that has been working previously failed hard today.
Pathetic.
Figure Id share a bad day since I’m always bragging on the good ones.

I’m sort of glad to hear. I wanted to be out there really bad. I couldn’t go. That makes me feel like it would hav been worse than work. Well, maybe not that bad.

Yeah I've been doing really well on an area lake.
Went out and fished 5 hours on Wednesday and ended up with 8 keepers.
It's always changing and different, especially in the fall and the Spring.

I took the wife on a getaway this week...we needed it, Rented a place on Lake Tyler and limited on Wednesday, 20 on Thursday. The weather was fantastic on Wednesday and Thursday AM, but later in the day we got the N wind and a little bit o' rain. She hung out at the cabin on Wednesday and Thursday morning. I took her our for an hour or so, and of course, she caught two of the biggest of the day. Good stuff. That lake has no timber, but the locals have done a good job of strategically discarding their Christmas trees in logical locations.
Tryhard - were you finding fish and they just wouldn't bite? I'm anxious to go back to RR and try again. My last trip there wasn't too good either, Saturday I think it was, maybe a dozen keepers between me and a buddy. I'd found some fish near Cates Point and they looked big on the Livescope, but they just weren't hungry.

There have been some really good fishermen having trouble putting together numbers lately. Finding a lot of inactive/uncooperative fish. Happened to us last weekend as well. Those days can be beatings. Seems like this whole year has been unusually tough for me.

Deep timber is still holding fish. Have a buddy killing them on it. 15 inchers too
