Crappie Ray Bob

I don’t usually fish for crappie. If I hit a good crappie spot what should be my go to lure? 25 30 feet of water?

Pink and chartreuse jig, at 15’ of water, or minnows if that don’t work

If we tell you, and you catch them, will you share the spot?

Sure. I have two spots I lose slabs in the brush and catch crappie sometimes

Use a Texas toothpick in the.brush with a minnow

Pink jigs tipped with minnows. I’ve started pinching the heads off when I’m struggling and putting the body on like plastic. But I suck.

A crappie jig in any color you have confidence in.

So...hijacking this thread since I'm going out this evening. Where would you start? I usually launch from Jordan and poke around in some of the coves when I have limited time, or sometimes out of Buck Creek. I'm leaning towards Buck because up towards the 922 bridge last week, there were tons of bait up that way. But I have fewer spots to hit up that way. I'm sure I can find some in either place of course but knowing the cooler weather for a good part of this month, might have them moving around. What say you experts?

David, says 15 foot of water. Does that mean fish at 15 or depth of 15? Last week I found fish from 10-15 in timber, most being about the 12-14 ft depth - using Livescope.

To clarify further, I was mostly in 20-24 foot of water for those fish @ 12-14.

I have 25 trees that I normally fish that are in from 13' to 37' of water, if i'm in 16' of water or less they are normally right at the bottom. If I am in 20 to 25' they are normally right around 15' deep, if im in water deeper than 25' they will be 15' to 25'of water. I have one tree that they are down at 10' down and one tree that they are down to 27' foot and those are anomalies. So that's why I'm saying the fish are on average about 15' down. Best way to find out what depth they are at if you don't have livescope is to drop your bait down 10', give it a minute, go down 2', give it a minute, repeat until you start catching them consistently at one depth, you will start seeing a consistant depth develop.
