The wife and I are taking a little get away and renting a house on cedar creek for a few days. I haven't fished there since the late 90's and then it was only bass tournaments. Anyone got any tips or suggestions on finding some brushpiles and or catching some of them hybrids. Thanks in advance

Cedar Creek is about 6" low right now, and water temps are up. Pretty clear. Summer in TX.
I have not had a chance to fish much in about 3 weeks, just getting over COVID, so not sure of the latest and greatest. On Crappie, they are moving to summer patterns, and deeper brush and bridges. Had started catching a few on the north 198 bridge before I got sick, deeper water. My house is on north end, Gun Barrel City area, so I fish up north more.
For the hybrids - go to the White - striper - hybrid forum, and look for post from Dennis Christian. He has some excellent reports, and also links to lake maps. Will tell you all you need for the whites and hybrids. Few other post some good stuff on CC, so search that forum.

Bump for you as I’d like to figure out some also. Been white bass fishing last two weekends but some crappie sound good too!

Right now you're going to have to put in some work to fill the freezer, but it's doable. Here's what I would do:
Fish with natural colored Thump Chubbies, tiny little hand tied jigs and live minnows on main lake brush in 12-18ft until around lunch. As the afternoon heat starts to set in, don't be bashful to get out in 18-24ft of water. Use the very least amount of weight you can get away with, and be patient letting your jig fall. You will more than likely only catch 2-5 keepers per spot before needing to move to the next spot. Don't be patient with fish this time of year; get the ones that are feeding and move quickly.

Thanks Laner, Been fishing aquilla with decent success but the wife and I are taking a mini vacay just to get out of town. Rented a house on CC, gonna take the boat to see what we can find.
