Fishing Scales Recommendations ⚖️

Fishing Scales Recommendations ⚖️ - 07/24/20 02:33 AM

My old scales have reached the end of their journey. Time for a new set. Can I get your recommendations on the best set for the money?

I don’t fish tournaments, so I don’t need a set that stores the weights of multiple fish. Simple but accurate would suffice, just something so I’ll know if I just caught my personal best crappie. Up to 15 pounds would be great just for the fun of weighing the occasional big bass that bites my crappie jig. Thanks in advance.

I keep an American Weigh Scale H-110 around just in case

Accurate too +/- an oz

Have it for Catfish, but will weigh small fish pretty accurately

Assuming your looking for a handheld scale. I bought a very small digital handheld from EBAY for about $16.00 or so and is very accurate. It can weight up to 100# !!
Can't remember the name but it was black with blue digital numbers. Built well too.

This is what I bought and it was based on a previous thread here about scales by another angler.

I bought a waterproof pelican case that I keep it in on the boat when I'm not using it.

Not the cheapest, but I have no regrets with the purchase.

Keep it in something waterproof when not in use was also a recommendation.

Very happy with both the scale and the Pelican Case.

Good Luck!

Here is the one I believe the post above is talking about:

Unless it has fold out handles you are not going to weigh anything too large because you will not be able to hold the scale.

America Weigh Scale also has an 11 lb model and 44 lb model. They will weigh in kg or lbs to hundredths of a lb.
I've used the AWS scales and they are accurate. You can get them certified if you care too.

Digital Rapala scale. Under $20 at Academy and Wal-Mart.
Easy to use, accurate, battery life is good.

Be safe.
