Fork Report!!!

Fork Report!!! - 06/30/20 05:50 PM

Spent the other day with Jacob and Jose in gail force winds on Fork and despite the conditions they managed a respectable cooler of slabs. We threw in the towel an hour early in favor of burgers and cold beverages and I still managed to clean 31 crappie and a couple rogue catfish. The fish on Fork were real picky and wanted the bait held in their face for a while before they hit and even then you didn't feel most bites would just feel weight on the end of the line as you were raising up and they would be on there. Was very hard to do with the wind. Small hand ties on Limit's Tackle heads and Jenko rods from Frank and Lakeside Lure and Tackle continue to put slabs over the rails. I have Wednesday the 8th available and will possibly have some availability at the end of the month depending on if we can schedule a vacation or not. Taking care of my FIL we probably won't get to go anywhere but it's nice to think about getting away!

Anyhow if somebody wanted to chase em next Wednesday let me know! I'm off to Quachita River for a few days after that.

Just got back from Fork this weekend, and this is the first time I've been there in a year and it was rather tough. We fished all day on Saturday and a half a day on Sunday and ended up catching about 25 total. It was slow, but we were doing a lot of searching. They were in the timber near the Saw Mill Hump area of the lake. Caught them all on jigs from 6' to 20' down in the timber. Bigger trees produced better results.
