Reviving my love of fishing!

Reviving my love of fishing! - 04/25/20 03:49 AM

After getting bass burnout, I decided to purchase the livescope system after fishing with Cameron on Fork! Best investment I’ve made on my boat! Absolutely love the information it provides to me! I’m finding small stumps and brushpiles I normally would not fish... and figuring out a it of times I was fishing under the active fish!

Son and I hit Cypress Springs yesterday and kept 15. I went to Bob Sandlin today and kept 20, caught over 100 easily! My thumbs are raw! I think I may hit Lavon tomorrow!

Here’s Blake and Cookie with two big ones from yesterday. [Linked Image]

Most of us have a back ground of Bass fishing for 20 years. Crappie fishing is a lot more relaxing and at the end of the day you end up with as many crappie as you want to filet.

Crappie are a lot more picky about feeding after cold fronts and big rains, but it's a Great hobbies to pursue.

Thanks guys! It’s been a real joy! This livescope is pretty darn neat! I’m finding brushpiles on every point on Cypress Springs!

I am in the same boat. Only problem is I never knew crappie fishing could be as expensive as bass fishing! I am into it for a bunch of jigs, 4 dock shooting setups, 4 jigging setups, 12” depthfinder plus Livescope, additional battery, wedge to level the trolling motor and a new Garmin Force trolling motor...but I am excited about fishing again.

We had an awesome day when we went Ronnie! I'm glad to see you get the bug. I haven't seen your son in a long time but it is crazy how much he has grown up.

Cameron! You started this livescope mess with me!! LOL! I love it! Blake loves it! It's a great joy watching him love to fish, again. I burnt him out on bass fishing, he does not like it. Thanks again for the day on the water! Blake has learned how to pick the larger ones out and target them, too! He got it down pretty quick. Took him about two days to get used to the width of the beam.

This is a great thread. I, too, couldn't care less about bass fishing. Give me crappie or sandbass for the numbers I can catch in a day, striper when everything falls in place and just this week I've dabbled back into carp. The best part of all of it is fishing with our kids! The "virus" has shut down my daughter's soccer and we have done a ton of fishing! It was good to stumble across your post, and see a name I recognize from the days I lived on this forum.
