Good Times with Murphy's Law

Good Times with Murphy's Law - 02/29/20 04:23 PM

I was on vacation all week so what's a Crappie Fishing Family to due but go Crappie Fishing.

We got my Mom on the water the other day for the first time this year and we were going after that 2 man and 1 woman limit. cheer

We managed 65 and then ole Murphy decided to get involved with our trip. popcorn

We tagged an underwater stump with the trolling motor and the motor immediately started making a high pitch noise while going nowhere. It sounded like a car in neutral while you rev your engine. Well...we were done. hammer

We came off the lake and took a good look at it off the water.
It looked normal. Then when we grabbed the prop it slid back and forth like a broken leg. We drove over to that trolling motor repair place off the 515. The armature was busted. cry flame OMG bang

What do we do now?

Well...you call Shut Up and Fish of course. We tell David we need an Ulterra 24 Volt with 80 pounds of Thrust and a 60" shaft with iPilot. He happens to have one in stock. flehan partyon breakdance

We are coming to get it right now!! pollo

We swing by Frisco and he drops Mom and I off with the fish.

I got a picture with Mom and the fish.
Then she got a picture with me and the fish.

Dad was off to Shut Up and Fish in Lewisville to grab our new trolling motor.

No pics of Dad unfortunately.

I clean all the fish myself. My Dad gets back and we install the trolling motor.

I believe we finished all of this by 10pm.

What now?

I'm on vacation so of course Dad and I went fishing again.

Double Limit with Pics.

Back to work tomorrow.

Making Memories that I will never forget.

Awesome few days of fishing for sure.

Huge Shout out: coach thumb to David at Shut Up and Fish for solving our problem with zero lost time on the water.

More successful trips and good memories with my Dad and Mom.

I sure hope Mr. Murphy will leave us alone for awhile.

Out of the 50 fish I cleaned yesterday only 8 were males and the other 42 were females.

Just an FYI...it's about to be on!!

All Trips Lake Fork
ACC Crappie Stix
Feather Jigs (Bubba Baits, Pepop, Fearless) 1/8 ounce White and Chartreuse, Chartreuse and Chartreuse, Gray and Royal Blue.
22-25 Feet with Fish Suspended 14-20 Feet.

We did try some Cork Fishing and got to watch it disappear a few times...Bass.

Oh yeah it is definitely about to be on.

Tight Lines to All! fish
