Crappie at Granger, finding brush piles

Crappie at Granger, finding brush piles - 02/12/20 12:32 AM

I'm not much of a Crappie fisherman, but thought I'd employ the basics of breaking down a lake to find brushpiles and structure for Crappie. My next trip this Saturday will be to fish these areas that I've mapped in hopes of finding Crappie during the early spawn.

I follow some really good Crappie fishermen on youtube, such as SK Crappie Adventures (https://youtu.be/ZRwv0tRrClU). I'll try to follow his methods in finding structure (tons of work in some target areas using your electronics).

Help me decide which of these waypoints I should target first to ensure I don't get SkunkedAgain! Thanks, Tim

If you go up the river be careful lots of hidden stumps as you are entering the river good luck and I've been a subscriber to your YouTube channel for awhile

SK is very tactical in his approach to Crappie fishing which is what I like about his videos! He is dead on about fishing the unseen below the surface structures that go unfished and never have a boat sitting on them. It worked for me last year on Aquilla on a single log several yards away from one of the TPWD BP`s. It produced a nice 2lb+ fish. The only one sitting on it but it was nice!

Good stuff Tim.

Had a friend on another forum (hunting) who would always say "Lotta good folks here" when he referred to folks who always would offer good advice or contribute useful information. SK fits that saying.

Very informative video again. I grew up on that lake, and it's by far and away the muddiest lake I've ever been on. My only advice would be to start on the south side of the lake, as that's where I found most my structure. Seems people fish the brush mostly in the summer and want protection from a south wind. Chartreuse is a killer color in that water. Good luck!

When I fished it once before, it was on someone else's boat and thought I'll never come back here again (muddy water). I'll pick me up some Chartreuse lures!
Thanks
