Has anyone even tried to catch crappie on Amistad? I caught 1 by mistake fishing for catfish.

to the tff i have tried the pilings on the 90 bridge and the 277 bridge but no luck. In What area did you catch it? Was it the only one you caught?

Dad and I bass fished the lake for a bunch of years, 30+ for dad and we never caught a Crappie, never even heard of a Crappie getting caught. Don’t think there’s many in there.

If I’m not mistaken, they only stocked 20,000 crappie fingerlings back in the 60’s and that’s it. I guess i’ll just stick to bass fishing.

Use to catch some off the dock at the Pecos high bridge dock. And a few up Evans creek in the spring while catching sand bass.

I caught the lonely one in a cove up in the rough canyon area. Caught it on a worm fishing for catfish. I switched to a few different jigs in the same spot and couldn't get anything to bite.

Last time restocked was in 89.
