I live at the Lake Whitney dam but crappie fish on Aquila. Now I need to start on Whitney. Any better locations / advise other than just scan the lake with my Helix 5? Also I am rebuilding a pontoon and need an older depth / fish finder that will not break the bank. I'm 65 and retiring in Jan or Feb,, and that means I got to get out of the house more.

Check the TFF classified and Bass Boat Central for used FF. These 2 groups have pretty good rep for good dealings.

Welcome. I just fished Aquilla. Have no clue where to go on that lake. So much timber. Everywhere. Fished a bit down on the south end with all the timber. Hit the bridge on the south end. Went north and fished the timber everywhere. Didn’t have a good day. Went to Lewisville the next day and military out quick. Wish I knew more about Whitney too. Like the lake what little I know about it.
