Lake Tyler Crappie (It is not just a Rumor)

Lake Tyler Crappie (It is not just a Rumor) - 07/08/19 11:06 PM

I have heard for years that there are good crappie in Lake Tyler, but unfortunately the only one I ever caught was when I was bass fishing and it was only about 9 inches long. Every time I try and crappie fish, I find bass! Today however I went with a guy that volunteered to take me and show me that there are some crappie in the lake. We slammed them. He showed me 4 good brush piles and told me where to look for a few more. All in all, pulled in about 37 fish and they were big (well most of them). I am a new believer in Lake Palestine. The sad part is that a year ago I moved into Tyler, but the old house was literally 5 miles from the boat ramp at lake Tyler. Now it is 20 minutes. Oh well some things are worth driving for! haha

Nice catch! It's always good to have another lake in your back pocket.

It is too long of a drive if Lake Tyler is at the end of it! LOL i used to really enjoy that lake when it had lots of Hydrilla. I rarely fish it anymore, it’s too easy to just go to PeeStain!
