Choke Canyon Crappie?

Choke Canyon Crappie? - 02/14/19 03:35 PM

Hey guys, I'm looking to try Choke Canyon Lake for crappie this spring. I'd appreciate any feedback on timing and areas to try and techniques. I've only bass fished the lake many years ago and would like to try crappie fishing it with my Dad and son as a weekend getaway. I've heard March is the ideal time?

usually it's after the last cold snaps and when you start to see the bluebonnets bloom. They move up close to the bank in and around the brush piles.
Lots of snakes start appearing as well, and it's then you know the water temps are right.

Thanks Jimbo! Good info on that link. I hear the bluebonnets are blooming now, may need to give it a try.
