3N | Irene The Crappie Queen

Monday was Irene on Lake Palastine. At last minute her friend Ann couldn’t make the trip with her. So she made the trip by herself from Louisiana. This young lady loves to fish.

Trip started out slow and tuff but the last spot of the day was on fire. Sometimes it takes us a little while to get on them. Because we are fishing open water and have to hunt for them.

Fish caught in 35 to 45 foot of water. 20 to 24 foot deep in open water. Some around river channel but most just out in the open roaming around. I am looking for Shad , but some of the spots are slim to none on shad.

We had a great day and time on the lake. Irene took home her limit of 25 big slabs. With one 2 pounder in the bunch. To give you a idea how big the slabs are on average 50 fish will be 4 quart bags of fillets . These big fish we are catching 50 will be 6 quart bags of fillets .
