The Keeper and the boys floated out back while I slung some big girls over the bow of the boat. It was an absolute divine day on the Grape...Color didn't matter but as some might already know what I was tossing at them. Hand-tied, Black/Chart 1/16th pink.

I told myself at the start of this year "Keep it simple stupid" and have selected to fish only hand-tied jigs. Black/Chart & White/Chart with a pink jig head. I have a good friend tying me some and have had a few other jig guys send me some to try out. I have caught more crappie this year and my big fish ratio has gone up considerably over the last 5-6 years of fishing crappie. Yes, I still have a big bag of plastics and when the bite gets tough I just keep giving the hand tie to them. I will change to the white and back to black when things slow up and it has seemed to get them biting again. 1/8 and 1/16 oz.

So there you have it Ron "BlueNitro" I think you may know the person personally who tied those two jigs in the picture below.

Oh, I have also been tipping the jig with the Berkely Waxie.

I have been wanting to fish Grapevine but don't know where to start. Never been on that lake.

This jig alone landed over 400 crappies under a bobber last spring. They just slap-ate-it-up.

I do the same thing with my kids. Swim out the back of boat while i fish in the front. Talk about a win win deal
