I have to take my boat to Longview for service and thought I might go to LOP after I pick it up. Traveling from Longview what ramp on the south end would be the most practical? I see that there are several artificial BPs in the lake. Are any of those marked or do you have to use coordinates?
The map also indicates a lot of "stumps"? Is this like boating at Palestine?
Thanks for any advice!
Brushy creek is a good one with no stumps around. The dock at Overlook ramp on the dam was torn up two weeks ago when I was there and I don’t know if it is put back together yet. The south end of the lake is mostly stump free so if you aren’t familiar with the lake that’s where I’d go. The Corp brush piles aren’t marked with a buoy or anything you will need a gps to get on them.

Hey, Skyview...might want to see if he will give you coords to one of his average brush piles...they will be better than most are used to...just saying...potlickers do occasionally catch a good basket of fish....RIGHT Troy?!

The Corp piles all have fish right now.
You can get the locations off the TPW site
Lots of brushpiles On pines, south end is stump free and that’s where we always fish. I tried timber hopping once north of alley creek and didn’t get much of anything, most likely due to the sheer amount of timber up there. I’d be checking anything from 10-20’ this time of year, always seems like where we did well. South end structure is isolated compared to the north end and the fish tend to stack up more.
