My BIL got me a small Engel cooler for Christmas a few years ago. I drilled a hole in it and stuck an $8 bubbler on it! Good to go!

I recently got the 13 qt Engel live bait cooler. My son used it for 3 days to keep 3 dozen minnows alive. They stayed alive till they were all used up. I think only 1 or two died.

I received a 19qt as a Christmas gift about 10 years ago from my GF at the time. I never was really impressed with it as far as a cooler went. So about 3 years ago I drilled a hole in it and stuck a bubbler on it. It works great as a minnow keeper when I use them. I did stick one of the Frabill disc bubblers in the bottom of it and got rid of the standard round ball.

Looks like they have come a long way since I quit using minnows...we used to take the oldest igloo we had and make one by adding a bubbler to it. During really hot weather we added frozen gallon jugs of water to keep the minnows extra frisky, which aided in catching crappie almost immediately upon hitting the water, or so we believed. Regardless, keeping the water cool during hot weather will keep the minnows alive longer.
Engel bait coolers are the great.
