Thanks. I will check their website in a few weeks. I'm not on Facebook but at times like this, it might be beneficial.

Got an email saying they had already sold out of the 8' , I have now given up on ACC as they cannot keep rods in stock. Time to move on and save the money for G rods.

Richie will be contacting all that pre ordered the ACC rods. Thank you all.

Breaking into the ROD business after being a Full Time Crappie Guide and now having a Full Time non fishing job to support your family and still run the ROD business on the side until you can increase your purchasing power in the very competitive fishing rod business.

Wow...I would say Andy is doing a heck of a job.

Not being able to keep rods in stock and selling out in days. Hmm.
Sounds like ACC must be doing something right.

As Tommy stated above...many of the "Dealers" have some in stock.

And G-Rods when they were starting out had plenty of OUT OF STOCK months as well so it isnt just ACC.

Just saying.

Re: 8' ACC Crappie Stix - 04/30/18 12:39 AM

I got the same email about the 8's.

Andy actually put his cell phone number in that email.

I spoke to him tonight. He actually does have some 8 Footers left, but he turned them off on the web site to double check his count and make sure he did not over sell. He also wanted to make sure that everyone who had been waiting got one.

Feel Free to call him directly. He will be happy to explain. I'm sure he can get you hooked up.

Dealers like Thumper Elite and The Minnow Bucket should be stocked up.

He also has a new 7'6" Rod.

Simply passing along the information.

I've got no skin in the game. My order shipped yesterday.

Good Luck to anyone interested.

Like TOMMY E said...Pick your poison.

I've tried the ACC RODS and they work just fine for me.

Tight Lines no matter what rod you go with.

Tbox got a bunch of G-Rods in stock...at least he did when I bought my 11’ rear seat...I could have easily spent a few thousand dollars before I walked out the door... woot

Wanted to, for sure...too many Boneheads to pull the trigger... flush_2

I guess I will eventually try those shorter ACC rods...just to see... juggle

After getting a chance to get caught up on his inventory count the 8 Footers have been "turned on" back on the web site.

So, you can order them if need be directly on the ACC SITE.

My rods and some extra tips I ordered arrived Friday.

Tight Lines no matter what you decide to fish with.

Good Luck.

Ok I have a question. For those with the 8’ or even the new 7’6, do you use a spinning or casting reel on them? Website says casting rod but rod guides seem pretty tall. TIA!

I bought an 8 footer, and put a spinning reel on it just fine. I like it. Nice rod.

Re: 8' ACC Crappie Stix - 05/13/18 08:32 PM

Thanks. It looks more like a spinning rod. So will probably go with that now.

Anyone using a casting reel? I got the 7’6 BTW.

Re: 8' ACC Crappie Stix - 05/15/18 12:17 AM

I got mine in, Fished with it and it's not as sensitive as I like. Guessing it's because it is the "casting" not a vertical jig pole. Haven't been impressed so far.

Re: 8' ACC Crappie Stix - 05/16/18 02:14 AM

CrappieFreaks,

Sorry to hear that. I guess Andy cant please everyone.

Rods are very personal in nature and different strokes for different folks.

Im sure you will have no problem selling it to a forum member if you should desire too.

I use both Casting Reels for vertical jigging and Spinning if I am fishing corks.

99% of my ACC rods have the bait casters.

Ive got the 8 Footers, The 5'6" Dock Shooters, the 10 Footer, 12 Footer, and today I was using the 7'6".

We got a 3 man limit today.

Purple and Green Tail, Orange and a Green Tail, Green on Green...Feathers 1/8 ounce.

15 Feet.

Took us about 6 hours. 9am-3pm.

Hopefully you can find a rod that works for you plenty of good ones out there.

Tight Lines and Good Luck.

All 75 fish today for us caught with ACC 7'6" and the other two in the boat were using the dock shooters.

Thanks Ike. I ordered a Pro Angler 8' just before my hip replacement. I also ordered 2 of the ACC 8' rods. I'm anxious to get approval from the doc to get back in the boat. That should be in about 2 weeks at my next appt.
