Will be there 3/17 - 3/24 with the fam. Is it a decent crappie lake?? Will they be on the banks by then??

Thanks

Very good crappie lake and there should be some shallow in the very backs of coves away from the main lake. The big arms off of the main lake are best. Not sure how high the lake is but that is where I would look. Just use a jig and bobber and cover water till you find them.

Probably won’t be shallow, it’s a big lake, takes a LONG time to warm up. Fished it for years and fish rarely, if ever showed up shallow before the first of April....our best time was always late April/early May for shallow fish. Think staging areas in 5-15’, that’s a tough time to fish the big T. Everything runs 2-4 weeks behind up there.

Appreciate the heads up. I'll be fishing for striped fish too, so no biggie if the crappie won't cooperate. Will probably be concentrating my efforts uplake, so maybe it will warm up faster than the rest.

. We always fished west of 377.....it’s just a big deep lake....striped fish could be upriver too....you might add smallies to your target list

Even more reason to check shallow fishing up that way. Several warm days and nights coming up the next several days. You will be missing out if you don't look for them up shallow. Just have to look in the right places.
