who ties a high quality crappie jig?

I'm looking for recommendations on where to find some great hand tied hair/feather jigs? I've done all my crappie fishing with plastics and would like to try something different. Plastics vs hand tied jigs, how would you say they compare and is one more effective than the other or does that depend on conditions?

I second this. I used Chris for the first time this past Fall, and the jigs were fantastic. Chris is meticulous & truly cares about doing the customer a professional job. I highly recommend him! Jiggin Jerry makes some good ones.

If you fish in non stained or clear water you should try the Gilmore Fuzzy Bug. The white Jig is super good at Possum Kingdom and I've had excellent results at Lake Fork as well. The material used is the same as Jerry uses. The Chartreuse flash on that material is extremely effective and I've never found a plastic with that effect. Jerry's jig quality is better, as his are hand tied.
