Need help with rod please

Need help with rod please - 12/23/17 08:51 PM

I want a 9-foot verticle jig rod. I find a lot of 10 and 11-foot rods, some 8s, but don’t know who makes a 9-footer in the $50 dollar range. May have to go to a 10-foot B&N rod, but really want a 9. Anyone know where I can get one?

In that price range, I'd just go with an 10' Pro Angler

Believe it or not, my best 9’ ish rod has been a old 10’ BnM Sam Heaton super sensitive with the last segment broken off (not on purpose of course) and the end eyelet replaced. I use it for everything. Works excellent for casting brush piles, dipping trees, vertical jigging. Enough sensitivity for good feel, and with the last segment stronger than normal, trees don’t phase it. All that I’ve put it through, it should have broke another 5 times by now, but it still works perfect.

Thanks for the replies. If I do not buy a 9 foot rod, I may buy the 10 foot B&M Sam Heaton super sensitive rod. From what I read, it is a popular rod.

I'm new to the forum. I also like a 9 ft rod so Pro Angler cut one foot off of a 10 ft rod and made me a 9 footer

I just picked up two of the Crappie Max ML rods at BPS last week. I lik them so far. They’re pretty sensitive. Caught around 30 on them last Thursday and Friday. I think they’re $60. I actually wanted 10 footers but BPS only had the 9 footers.

I realize it's out of the budget range but it is worth saving for and getting the best......G-ROD!

I've got a few of them and they are the best that I've tried. Now my pro anglers, bone heads, etc. just sit in the corner.

I can feel the water pressure change as the slabs approach the jigs boys!

G-rods are the only rods I'm fish with now. Why not get the best? Notice folks dropping hundreds and thousands on their boat, trolling motor, electronics...etc and then they go cheap on rods....I don't get it.
