Who is going to try a nd fish...

Who is going to try a nd fish... - 05/24/23 04:03 PM

... this weekend?
I might be I will go and fish way up the river section of Logan Martin near the dam separating Logan Martin and Neely Henry. There is not ramps or gas pumps for about 10 miles so not many pleasure boats go that far up. Plus it is more of a river than a lake there also.
If not, then I will be doing yard work all day. I really need to do that but I will always put that off to go fishing.

How are the lakes around where you live on Memorial Day? Here the water is like a washing machine. By 10AM the banks are all muddy from the waves crashing into them.

I'm hitting the Lower Laguna Madre in the morning. I don't go near the ramps on weekends.

Going to my deer lease for the weekend. It's only a few miles from Ivie but the boat is staying home. The only lake I ever fish only holiday weekends is Falcon.

Going to Possum Kingdom for a 3 day daddy/daughter trip with my daughter, my brother, and niece.
We're taking the pontoon boat, but have 3 private ponds to fish on the land where we'll be boondocking in a real nice RV with a generator to run the AC.

Anyone know what ramp - preferably toward the north end of the lake might be less of a fubar than others?
I have not been there in years.

A friend said if we stay away from the dam and hell's gate, the boat congestion on the water should be less.
Anyone know how the bluegill fishing might be toward the north end or maybe up the river?

It was either Tawakoni to practice for Champs or Cedar Creek to practice for TTO. I have chosen to play golf and consume copious amounts of alcohol.

Went yesterday. Caught 30 or so, up to five pounds. Bladed jigs and wacky worms were the ticket.

going again Saturday.
this retirement jazz is ok.

I am hoping to get out and wet a line some. Same deal...get out early and get back early. Rental jet skis/pontoon boats with morons that have never driven either in their lives will be thick....not to mention all the kids fresh out of school in daddy's wake boat. On second thought, I may just do yardwork? LOL Travis is a highland lake with a mostly solid limestone shoreline from mid-lake to the lower basin, so water clarity doesn't suffer too much from all the boat traffic.
