Electric Pressure Washer

I need a pressure washer. Gotta clean my deck…raccoons have dirty feet. Also need to clean gutters, and wash walls.

Are the electric models any good? Do they produce enough pressure to get the job done?

I must admit not have to yank that damn cord to start it has a certain appeal….also, not having to pay a couple hUndred each season to the small engine repair shop to get it to start has even greater appeal.

Your thoughts?

At least 2,000 PSI. Most electrics just don't have enough uuummmph for me but they are making them more potent now.

I've heard that Sun Joe makes a good electric. Amazon.

I bought one of those Sun Joes for work cleaning landings and washing the dirt dawbers off the stucco. Is it the best, knock the paint off the car kind of thing...no. But it certainly gets the job done and makes an amazing difference on the small projects we have. Manager lady was tired of me taking it home for stuff, so on Memorial day I noticed they had it on sale for $122 vs $199. Picked one up for the home stead as well, couldn't beat that price.

When I was looking just now I see they're making electrics over 3,000 PSI now.

For these two reasons I went with a Honda engine.

Power washing is a chore, small engines can make it so much worse.

Actually 2700psi is better. Note: Maximum psi is only created when one of the nozzle's create a STREAM..not a spray. Using the spray nozzle's lessens the psi. The higher psi is always better which create's a higher spray psi. Who uses the Stream pattern anyway!!

same, setting up the scaffold as soon as first cool down happens. I have way too many under the patio roof, probably 3 days worth of cleaning.

dirt daubers are my biggest summer pain, then yellow jackets.

I have the cheapie from Harbor. Only about 1700 psi but it does ok around the house and even on the cars. Portland and $79. Battery versions are coming out. I have a 40 volt Greenworks chainsaw that works great. Bad shoulders dont do well anymore on gas stuff.

Ours works good enough for most things, it’s definitely not a gas powered washer, but it would still blow your skin off.

I've had both types. The electric is way easier to use but just doesn't have the power needed for most jobs.

At this time, I suggest going with the gas powered type.

I bought one at Sam’s with a Honda engine that is 3300psi. Had it for 4 or 5 years and it still cranks on the first or second pull. I think the power you get with a gas washer trumps the convenience of an electric washer.

Ryobi or karcher.

I have a Ryobi 1800psi that does everything I need. However, I'm on my second one. The first one stopped working.

When I moved into a new house 4 years ago, I bought all electric (battery or AC) tools. I did not want to store gas. The 2000 psi electric power washer was not totally useless, but very close. I sold it for $80 on Craig's List last month and bought a 3000 psi gas powered machine. It's a beast.

This. Run the canned gas unless you plan on going thru multiple tanks of fuel. Just make sure the carb is full of the canned gas. Also in my experience Honda engines are always easy starting quality motors more so than any other brand.

For house cleaning I think you'll want a gas washer. I have a 2000 psi electric. It's handy, light, does a fine job on the cars and outside furniture. Anything bigger than that, you need to get the nozzle really close and move really slow to get grime off.

Also a huge fan of Honda small engines.

Don’t get hung up on the Psi. Look at the water volume. More water easier to clean .

For what you want, electric would work well. I had a Greenworks for 6-7 years that I liked before it died last year and I got a Ryobi for less than $100 on black Friday and it's been fantastic also.
