Courtesy goes a long ways……some will never understand the importance of courtesy. Courtesy is a quality that is learned from your upbringing. Would you consider yourself a courteous person? I know that I am. It is one of the best characteristics a person can possess. This world would be a cake walk if we were all courteous. This is such an important word. my grandfather (dads side) who I spent summers with as a wee tyke would slap the krap out of the side of my head if I didn't say yes ma'am, sir, open doors for women and in general be courteous to everyone.

Yes, I think I do. I was raised when there were parents. My parents and grandparents made sure I was polite and courteous to everyone. If I did something "ugly" my Dad made sure I knew what I did wrong and if my grand father saw me, I got the dreaded "Billy Roy....come see me when we get home". That ruined the whole day. Today I open the door for people, hold the door, say thank you and have a nice day. I try to do my good deed for the day, something very simple to paying it forward. Like I said, I was raised when there was such a thing as parents.

And, I was raised going to church.

Yup, still hold the door open for others going into and out of stores. Shoot, I even still open the truck door for my wife after 35 years of marriage. It's funny when you get to an intersection with 4 way stop and you sit there waving for the other guy to go thru the intersection and he is waving for you to go first.

Yep, that is the way I was brought up and so were my kids.
I was at the parts counter at the Jeep dealership when a woman walked up to the counter. Saw her and the first thing I did was to get off of the one barstool and offer it to her. Never even thought about it, it's just first nature.

I am but I did mow both my yards starting at 6:01 this morning.

And I liked it!!!!

My neighbor across the street showed us some courtesy and mowed her yard early this morning.. I waved at her in return.

I believe I am a courteous person. One, because my dad would have beat the ever-living hell out of me if I even forgot to say yes ma’am. Two, because I have this fear that I could be lumped in with the “millennials” or the walking garbage that seems to be everywhere these days.

I concur, take for instance the time we were having beers in the parking lot of castaways after fishing, some random dude magically appears saying he had to take a wizz real bad, rj let the guy wizz in his room, I'd say that was pretty courteous.

Yes sir, no ma’am, please, thank you, hold the door open for everyone, ladies first. You only got one warning with Loyd Oldaker and after that, it was a slap upside the head. You couldn’t endure too many slaps upside the head from a bricklayer’s hand. The lesson took very quickly. I always try to have courtesy for everyone, especially the people I live around.
