The Next Big Short(age)

We have now seen tight supply, or shortages, of many goods. Including the TP wars of lockdown, chips for vehicles, chicken wings, Topo Chico, lumber, housing, chips for people (per the OT), and even labor.

Sriracha we are told is next, but I still see plenty of it in the stores. Online not so much.

So, what is the NEXT big Short going to be on?

Everything. I work in logistics and we are seeing an inordinate amount of companies, in all industries, cancelling restock orders and drawing down inventory like never before. There is going to be a ton of manufactured goods sitting in China with nowhere to go. Ocean freight is too expensive and cutting into margins for a lot of industries. This fall and winter are going to be interesting.

In case anyone missed this the west is literally about out of water. Major Cities across Cali, Nevada and Arizona are in dire straights with no real hope of a recovery soon.

Shortages and major price hikes in fruits and vegetables perhaps? Cali grows most of our domestic crops intended for peoples tables.

To think it could not happen here is silly. It will. Question is just when...not if.

Heard about this "shortage" a month or so ago, hasn't really seemed too much of a reality...

Tampons is what I am hearing but no impact here. Kroger did not have any cinnamon altoids on Sunday and limited stock of others. Cinnamon are the only ones I buy there. The others are available and cheaper at WalMart
