The coolest rest area ever!

Ive passed this several times now but finally made time to stop. Its East of Tucson on I-10. Its called Dragoon Road rest area. These rocks formations last about 2 miles and this is the only place Ive seen this type of rock. Some are so precariously balanced youd think a giant placed them there.

You should push some of those rocks down so nobody gets hurt by them. Very cool photos!

I also noted the lack of grafitti. I thought that was kind of nice

As an old who makes road trips out west, rest areas are important to me. Arizona places their rest areas in scenic spots, but there are not enough of them. New Mexico has more frequent rest areas, in generic locations. Nevada has no-frills rest areas.

It's been over 50 years since I have been there. We had relatives that lived in Tucson and Dad would always make that one of the rest stops. Somewhere in my attic I'll bet there are some vacation photos from back then.

Reminds me of the Devil’s Backbone in Loveland CO…

Been there several times. It is a neat place and the boulders are pretty cool to see.
