Boots if it's colder than 50, sandals 50 and above, your making this too complicated.

Not really, you're reading too much into it. Love sandals and crocs but for standing on deck all day the support is not that great so looking for a comfortable tennis shoe that gives that.

I’d wear what Ike wears. He covers more miles in a boat than anyone I know.

On Cloud or Crocs. **Crocs with socks is even better**
You're welcome.

I was a New Balance guy for more than a decade but their prices have gotten unreal.
Sketchers has at least some shoes that come in wide and they're reasonably priced if not cheap compared to rest of the market.

If you have BCBSTX health insurance, you can get 30% off. The last time I bought shoes was on that tax free weekend the state has before school starts. No taxes + an additional 30% made for a good buy.

Brooks. Best insole and arch support. Keeps my plantar fasciitis away. Nike is one of the worst. Way too flat.

Brooks FTW

Re: Lets talk tennis shoes - 01/07/22 09:20 PM

I have had 4 pairs of Brooks Addictions! $129 usually maybe free shipping. White black or brown. And I have terrible feet but no problem when I wear these shoes. Up to 4E widths.

This.

If the weather's right, I usually take my shoes off while on the boat.

I like Hey Dudes but not for fishing. Cold weather I wear my Merrill’s, best shoe you can buy. Not too cold I wear Nike Air or Under Armour. Over 70 I wear flip flops and fish barefooted. That’s all I got.

Re: Lets talk tennis shoes - 01/09/22 03:15 PM

I wore Asics for years at work, on my feet with 12 hr shifts on a concrete floor.

I knew of the reputation of Brooks and my wife wore them. I bought a good pair for work and within a month I had plantar fasciitis. Coulda been just coincidence but I continued with the Brooks another couple of months getting progressively more lame. Changed back to my Asics, got steroid injection in the foot/heel, and started wearing inserts. Took 6 months for the pain to go away.

I wear size 10 1/2-11 depending on manufacturer. I have the hoka cliftons, narrow feet people wear these. I have wide high arch. Hoka didn't work for me. Sketchers d'lux walkers do and even better with extra cushion added inside. I'm front heavy roflmao so these are good.

Adidas with the Boost technology/soles are comfy. I like the NMDs if you wanna get fancy....but i think youll be good as long as they say they have the "boost" in them. Might wanna test them out first...cuz I got a buddy who cant stand them.

Re: Lets talk tennis shoes - 01/11/22 11:00 PM

On a whim I got a pair Skechers "Milford" a few years ago. Like them so much I have 3 pairs in use (best pair for work, second best for the boat, third and worst for working around the farm) and a 4th pair in waiting for its turn when #3 gets worn out.
